boxing (full-contact sport)
woods & benson courtney

Okay - i am, i'm stressed, cause i've been, like, running into - [sighs] i've been running into walls [sighs].
‍ ‍
[benson licks something in the background, woods’ pants rustling as woods walks around]

i’ve been
running
into walls
feels like
all i do
is fall
but not
to pieces

no, each time
i end up on the ground,
i’m more lost
than i’ve been found
but i don’t mind
being lost

but, you see,
the thing is,
there’s a cost

[rustling sounds stop]

is there a cost?

[rustling sounds start again]

maybe,

[benson vocalizes, rustling sounds stop]
and maybe not

[rustling sounds start again]
i always thought
it meant something
about me
that i couldn’t do

[woods steps on a wrapper]

the things - oop -
couldn’t do the things
others could easily
but i don’t mind

[benson vocalizes in support]

trying and trying again -
and trying again

[benson licks my hand]

[rustling sounds stop]
i’ve come to value
my ability to fall,
even my ability
to run into walls
[licking sounds top, rustling sounds start again]

but i’d rather
that not be
the only way
i feel things

[woods sighs]

[benson vocalizes in agreement]
[slight chuckle, licking sounds start again]

and it’s just called,
like, full contact sport

[woods laughs, groans]
connecting with yourself
and your body is,
it's a full contact sport
