Make it

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

I ended up refusing to defend my dissertation because of my experiences with “community” and everything that I was learning.

Chronic Cultural work

I started chronic cultural work to share some of this and to lean into what it looked like to create as a damn person and my work was increasingly leaning into graphic design as the words that I knew no longer communicated what I wanted them to communicate.

I had been passionate about multimedia accessibility because of the teaching methods that were not accessible to those with learning disabilities, and the desire to interact with material beyond the confines of the disciplinary journal - in things that were happening in the moment. Being dyslexic influenced this greatly. (Also hyperlexic.) Considering what reading and writing really meant.

I connected to poetry, which was always something I had done since I was a kid. I also had started painting. I have always done photography as well. I just knew there was so much more to cultural work than two-columned disciplinary words on paper - things that came to me much easier, as well.

I really liked the visual and physical media aspect of posters and stickers and thought about what multimedia meant in a remote way, considering how it had historically been used in movement spaces.

I considered how all of these different mediums could be used because of my focus on access and what movement meant and what cultural work meant.

The writing piece again was this rejection of the ways in which discipline told us it was possible to write. But was more like coming back to myself.

chthonic circus

The chthonic circus has been a project in somatics, storytelling, and world-building. (rotpunk, ethical horror, energetics, audio space as blackbox; clowning to decompose relationships; audio erotica and its role now; respirotica)

Clowning based in these histories, based in structural knowing and coming back to our bodies and abolition of structures through abolition somatically. Also storytelling in ways that are possible, storying your way - becoming vs identity
